ANOTHER ATHLETE IN DANGER OF FORECLOSURE

BANK SUES SPENDING SPRE
By JULIA DAHL

May 3, 2008 -- Talk about a financial foul.
Former NBA bad boy Latrell Sprewell is being sued by City National Bank for failure to pay more than $23,000 in credit-card bills, according to the Web site TMZ.com.
The former Knick, who reportedly once was paid $14.5 million a year and may be best known for attacking his Golden State Warrior coach during practice in 1997, has apparently fallen on hard times since quitting basketball.

In February, The Associated Press reported that not only had his 70-foot yacht been repossessed, but he was in danger of losing his Milwaukee home to foreclosure as well. He owed $1.3 million on the boat and $295,138 on the house, according to ESPN.
While his financial future may be in jeopardy, Sprewell did recently dodge a legal bullet. In February, ESPN reported that Westchester County prosecutors dropped the charges stemming from an alleged December 2006 assault on his girlfriend in front of their children.
